Harmony IT Backup/Disaster Recovery

It's OK to talk about it
Some people consider data backups and disaster recovery to be topics that just aren't discussed in polite society. After all -- who wants to acknowledge that bad things happen. But let's face it.  Bad things happen everyday to businesses just like yours. File and folders get deleted.  Data gets corrupted.  And then there are the really big things -  like fires, floods and severe weather. Shouldn't you have some plan in place to deal with it?

Think of it as insurance
You insure your business against fire, flood, tornado, theft and other losses.  And while that insurance may replace your computers, it does nothing to protect the information stored on those computers.  That's your responsibility. And even smaller losses matter.  Can you recover that deleted file or folder? Do you have a copy of your database in case of corruption?

Tired of tape?
While tape backup remains the industry standard, more and more businesses are looking for an easier alternative that provides the same, if not better, protection for vital business records.  After all, tape can be quite a hassle.  Someone has to check each day to make sure the backup ran.  They have to change tape cartridges and store the tapes securely.  And recovering a single file or folder from a tape is extremely time-consuming, as you slowly work your way through gigabytes of data to find the exact spot on the tape with the file you need.

Gone in a flash!
In an effort to get away from tape, some people are turning to flash drives or removable hard disks for backup purposes.  But that's not the best idea, either.  Portable media is easily lost or stolen, and the data on the media is not encrypted, which means almost anyone can access your private business files. And there are some reliability issues, too.  Do you really want to trust your business future to a thirty dollar flash drive or a removable hard drive designed to store pictures on your home computer? Will that data really be there when you need it?

Is it safe?

Experts recommend that backup tapes or other media be taken offsite for storage.  And they're generally ignored.  People will just pop that tape into their fire safe and figure that's good enough.  But remember this....that safe is "fire proof".  Not "heat proof."  And tape melts.  So do flash drives and other portable media.  Excessive heat can scramble magnetic data.  And then there's water damage, whether it's from a sprinkler system, a fire hose or just a hole in the roof.  The best place for your data is far away, but also where you can easily access it if necessary.

We've got your back
With Harmony IT Backup/Disaster Recovery, Lamm Technical Resources has your back...and your backup.  We obtain, configure and install a dedicated storage server that routinely copies and encrypts all of your server data several times a day. Each night, that encrypted data is sent over the internet to secure data storage facilities on opposite ends of the country.

The best of both worlds
Harmony IT  Backup/Disaster Recovery provides fast, disk-based recovery of files and folders during normal circumstances, and secure, off-site storage that protects against catastrophic loss.  And best of all...you and your staff don't have to lift a finger. No tapes to change or store, no backup software to monitor.  Lamm Technical Resources does it for you.  And all at a set monthly fee that fits easily into your budget.

But wait! There's more!
With Advanced or Ultimate Harmony IT Backup/Disaster Recovery, not only is your server data backed up - so is your hardware.  In the event of a server fault that will require extended downtime for repair or replacement, the storage appliance can be converted to function as the missing server. No longer does business grind to a halt for several days while server repairs are underway.  When your server is ready to go back into service, it's a smooth transition back to business as usual. And best of all - the work to transition your operation to and from the backup device is all included in the monthly fee!
